National OpenAIRE workshop in Bratislava, Slovakia

On October 23rd 2017 Slovakia held a national OpenAIRE workshop in Bratislava at Slovak Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI). Around 80 attendees attended and discussed the following topics:

Iryna Kuchma

„Fostering the social and technical links that enable Open Science in Europe and beyond“ presented by Iryna Kuchma, EIFL.

„The OpenAIRE FP7 Post Grant OA Pilot: results of first two years“ presented by Gwen Franck, EIFL/LIBER.

„Open Access in Horizon 2020“ presented by Barbora Kubíková (in Slovak). Barbora works at SCSTI as In-House lawyer and National contact point for H2020.

“Open Government principles – national policy to support Open Science and Open Access” presented by Skarlet Ondrejčáková (in Slovak). Skarlet is Director of the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for the Development of Civil Society.

Zuzana Adamová

„Creative Commons Licensies“ presented by Zuzana Adamová (in Slovak). Zuzana is currently working as lawyer in Petkov&Co and is Director in Institute of Intellectual property and Information Technology at University of Trnava – Faculty of Law. 

„Predators: dangers of Open Access publishing“ presented by Lucia Nižníková (in Slovak). Lucia is working at Matej Bel University Library in Banská Bystrica as Head of database development.

The workshop was closed with an Open Café, which was a great opportunity to break into smaller groups, have in-depth discussions and design strategies for promotion Open Access, Open Research Data and Open Science in Slovakia.
